How Long It Takes for a Rent Payment to Reach an Owner’s Bank Account

Summary: It can take up to 4 – 14 calendar days from the moment the renter (or their company) pays until the deposit appears in your account.

Why There’s a Gap After a Booking

  • Enterprise payers dominate. About 80% of stays are paid by insurance companies, relocation firms, or large employers; the remaining 20% are paid by individual guests or through Airbnb.

  • The payment method controls speed once payment is due. ACH is quickest, credit-card (CC) transactions sit a bit longer, and paper checks move at postal pace.
    1. Stripe is the payment provider who handles ACH and CC and doesn’t offer any flexibility on timelines
    2. Note: In 90% of TCH bookings, payment is due before the guest check-ins and so no additional delay to the below Step-by-Step Timing table below applies. In the remaining 10%:
      1. Airbnb doesn't releases payment until 1-2 days after check-in (so add another 1-2 days on top)
      2. Major corporate relocation company such as Sirva pay on net 30 payments terms (less than 2% of bookings, add another 30 days on top)
  • What we do behind the scenes.
    1. Reconcile accuracy — We compare what should have been billed against what actually arrives (and dispute under-payments when needed).
    2. Update your ledger — We deduct and record any pre-approved maintenance we fronted so your statement is exact.
    3. Remit the balance — As soon as the numbers tie out and funds have settled in our bank account, we trigger your ACH payout.
